STORE MANAGER - CLIFTON VILLAGE, BRISTOL

Doghouse is an engaging destination pet shop based in Clifton Village, Bristol and we’re looking for a full time Store Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven experience in retail to join our growing team. We have a grooming salon, pet shop and café counter in-store where customers can come together over a great cup of coffee and browse our range of quality pet goods. We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service, so friendliness and great communication is a must when working with us.

Full time: 5 days per week which will include some weekend work, but not necessarily every weekend.

• Previous retail experience in the pet sector or a busy retail environment.
• An ability to work independently and to lead a small team

Key responsibilities:

Delivering commercial excellence and high standards of leadership, management and outstanding customer service.  As Manager you will be responsible for leading the team and directing staff duties on the shop floor.

• Making coffee and serving in our small café.
• Keeping detailed records of stock & customer orders
• Maintaining a high level of store presentation
• Developing product knowledge
• Accepting deliveries & checking stock received (this can be physical work)

FULL TIME DOG GROOMER - BRADFORD ON AVON

Doghouse is an engaging destination pet shop with a grooming salon, pet shop and café counter, and we're looking for a talented Dog Groomer to join our Bradford on Avon store. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced groomer who wants to either join our team as a full time employee or run their own independent grooming business through our rent a table option. Either way, you'll be working from a prominent high street location with an established customer base, in a friendly and supportive environment that's genuinely invested in your success.

We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, so friendliness and great communication is a must when working with us.

Two ways to work with us:

Full time employed: A salaried position as part of our team, with the security and benefits of employment.

Rent a table (self employed): Run your own grooming business within ours. You keep 60% of your grooming takings and pay Doghouse 40%, with Emmipet services split at 90/10. After a three month review, we look to reduce the split to 65/35 depending on targets. You set your own holiday, keep your own tips and have the freedom of self employment with the backing of an established brand.

• Have a City & Guilds Level 3 dog grooming qualification and/or similar relevant experience/qualifications
• Previous professional dog grooming experience across a range of breeds and coat types
• Confidence handling tricky grooming situations and nervous dogs
• An ability to work independently and manage their own diary
• An eye for detail and an ability to think on your feet
• An enthusiasm for dogs!

Key responsibilities:

Delivering high standards of grooming and outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for managing your own appointments, greeting your customers and keeping your work area spotless.

• Grooming dogs to a high standard, safe handling and welfare at all times
• Seeing your own customers in and out and rebooking their next appointment
• Keeping the salon scrupulously clean and disinfected at the end of each day
• Managing your diary through our Fresha booking system
• Maintaining a high level of salon presentation
• Developing your grooming knowledge and skills

What we provide:

You'll have access to everything you need to get straight to work. That means a personal styling table, shared use of our hydro bath and stainless steel bath, blasters, stand dryers and salon equipment, plus towels, shampoos and conditioners. You'll also get use of our Fresha booking system, free wifi, all water, gas and electric, and all the teas and coffees you like from our café. We have a large existing customer database to help you build your business, and we regularly share grooming availability across our active social channels.

What you'll need to supply:

If you're joining us on the rent a table option, you'll bring your own scissors, clippers, blades and brushes, your own consumables and finishing touches, and your own public liability insurance as a minimum. We'll support you in setting up your business account and answer any queries along the way.

What we're looking for:

Most importantly you will have brilliant grooming skills and exceptional customer service. You'll be highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic and able to respond quickly to the different demands working at Doghouse can bring. You'll take real pride in your work and care deeply about the dogs in your chair.
