Thousands of events are happening across the UK this Bank Holiday weekend, to celebrate King Charles' Coronation. But you might be wondering which events are dog friendly? We've compiled a list of the best events that your four legged friend can enjoy with you... from Dog Shows to Garden Parties, we're sure you'll find something worth wagging your tail for!

Plus, we have some cute coronation themed accessories available for your dog to wear on the special day at the bottom of this blog!

What's on in Bristol?

Bristol City Centre

Coronation Tea Party is raising money for DAWG - a Greyhound and Lurcher rescue charity. Join in and celebrate the Coronation while helping provide much needed funds to this worthwhile charity. Saturday 6th May between 10am - 4pm on Staple Hill in Bristol. There will be activities for children, plus cake and Pimms for adults!

What's on in Devon?

Canonteign Falls

Visit Canonteign Falls from 6th– 8th May for the Kings Coronation celebration weekend with all the usual fun and adventure, plus a “Hunt the Crown” selfie competition, fun NEW children’s trail, as well as celebration cakes in the Canonteign Kitchen. Canonteign is dog friendly so your dog can join in on the fun!

Haldon Forest Park

Celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III with a picnic! This free event takes place at Haldon Forest Park from 11am until 3pm on Bank Holiday Monday 8th May. Activities include face painting, kid’s magician (11am to 1pm), family games for all, royally best dressed dog competition – bring your fashion-forward pooch to the Info Pod to have their photo taken for a chance to win a doggy goody bag!  Don’t forget to pack a great British picnic for a fantastic family day in the forest.

Battersea Power Station

The iconic Battersea Power Station is inviting members of the public to an epic street party for the coronation on May 6 and 7. The main event of the procession and coronation will be broadcast on a big screen while Elton John and Spice Girls tribute acts perform.

There will also be plenty of other music, including choirs and buskers, and balloon animals for kids. You can also enjoy ping pong, puppet shows, theatre performances, and a pizza truck. Plus, Battersea Power Station's new shopping centre is dog friendly so you can bring your dog along for a great day out.

Canary Wharf

You’re invited to a Pooch Party on Sunday 7th May! Pooch Parties are fun events for you and your pup where you both get to enjoy a three-course lunch! Join in the royal festivities and dress your pup up in the most regal outfit (shop accessories here!), as they walk down the red carpet runway at the Barking Banquet. The best dressed pooch will be crowned the winner (literally) going home with a very special prize. After all the fur-tastic fun, head up to the restaurant to enjoy our Bone Appétit Menu with three courses for both you and your dog.

Sunday 7th May 1pm

Tickets cost £40 per person with £5 from each ticket being donated to Dogs Trust.

The All About Dogs Show is the UK’s Favourite dog event for dogs of all shapes and sizes – and it’s returning even bigger and better in 2023! Celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III with Harrogate's Big Coronation Celebration.  A three day party-in-the-park in the beautiful setting of the Valley Gardens. Families including dogs can gather to mark this momentous event over the bank holiday weekend with a live stream of the Coronation ceremony on a big screen, family-friendly entertainment, fairground rides and an artisan market. Bring your picnic blanket and settle in for the weekend of celebrations. Watch the crowning of our new King with the Coronation ceremony live from Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday 6 May followed by the full programme of celebrations including Fun Family Films.

The Cotswolds Cats & Dog's Home are hosting a Big Picnic and Dog Show Coronation Day at the Jubilee Playing Fields in Gloucestershire, GL11 5UL. This will be a great family day out to celebrate the King's coronation in the community! On Saturday 6th May 11am to 5pm, bring along the whole family for a truly royal celebration. This is an extra special one! Seaham Hall in County Durham is opening up its door to pups who share a name with the new King - that means a free night stay at a 5* hotel if you have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! Owners booking a dog-friendly package with their own King Charles will receive a complementary night stay when you book three nights, meanwhile your furry friend will get their own in-room ‘pup-pack’ full of treats and ‘pawsecco’ to help them relax after a day out at the beach.

If you haven't managed to find a dog friendly event near you, why not host your own? The whole nation will be celebrating so gather up your friends (and their dogs!) and have a very British picnic of your own.
